About Castalio

Where the name comes from

Castalio comes from Castalia, the sacred spring at Delphi that, in Greek mythology, inspired artists and the Muses. The name is easy to say in many languages (cas-TA-lio), and you can hear 'cast', as in casting.

Our mission

To help models, photographers, makeup artists, stylists, musicians and other creatives find each other, work together with confidence and be treated fairly, anywhere in the world.

What we do differently

The older networks in this field left their members with slow pages, arbitrary moderation, missing support and restrictions that stopped people from talking to each other. We built Castalio to fix those flaws:

• Fast pages, on desktop and mobile.
• Moderation with a stated reason and a right of appeal.
• Complete references, including negative ones, with a right of reply.
• A free account that is genuinely usable, and paying members can always receive messages from free members.
• Identity verification without keeping any image of your face.
• Practical safety tools: check-in, safety assistant, Safety Centre.
• Image releases signed directly on the platform.
• Cancelling is as easy as subscribing.

Built for the whole world

Castalio is multilingual from day one, aiming for around forty languages, including right-to-left ones. Prices are shown in your currency and adjusted to purchasing power in your country. Search works everywhere and highlights travelling members when a city is still sparsely populated.

Real members

No fake profiles, no inflated numbers: we show honest activity indicators, such as last sign-in and response rate.

City geographic data: GeoNames (geonames.org), licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. It is only used to place a profile at the centre of its declared city, for distance search.
